About Us
Helping Through The Arts is a non-profit organization that focuses on building communities through the people that live there. We engage veterans, children, and families (housed & unhoused) with art based mentorship programs to support their mental health, growth and well-being. We provide free and low cost sessions that help our participants to de-stress, build self-esteem, and reconnect with society.
Your contributions will allow us to bring mobile, virtual, and popup art sessions in greater numbers, provide case management for homeless prevention, hygiene essentials, and literacy materials to the community and assist us in providing these wonderful programs to all. |
THE ART HELPS
With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities, improve mental well-being, and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. With this in mind, our goal is to help provide resources and opportunities by partnering with you and other donors.
Our largest event is our Annual Fundraising Drive. This event takes place from January through February of each year and marks our organization's anniversary. This event gives us an opportunity to meet and greet our donors. In addition to our annual fundraising event we also have the following programs.
Re-Life: Uniforms for Literacy and Education Drive
Re-Life provides gently used, upcycled school uniforms to families in need. We are pleased to announce that in addition to traditional school supplies we also give away electronics such as Amazon / Barnes & Noble readers, refurbished iPads and Android tablets. By supporting this program, you will directly impact the single parents & families facing the hardships of trying to first, obtain the uniforms and then trying to get those uniforms embroidered for the upcoming school year.
Bridges: Case Management for Homeless Prevention:
Provides case management services, financial assistance, essential hygiene supplies & resources to those persons or families, housed and unhoused in hopes of keeping them from becoming homeless. Funding is always needed and much appreciated in this area by way of grants and donations(public/private) and services offered by landlords, rental & housing agencies(public/private). Support was given to successfully rehouse 43 families in 2022 and provided homeless prevention & case management services to 89 families in 2023 & over 113 families in 2024. By supporting this program, you will directly impact the lives of everyone in the community and assist us in bringing hope to those in need.
Adopt a Veteran:
This program allows participating veterans and donors an opportunity to connect more closely to the community. We feel this allows the donors to see how they are impacting our local veterans and of course this helps the veteran by allowing them the opportunity to share the art that was created and know that the donors really have an interest in their over all well-being.
Empowertress Beauty:
This program offers wigs, beauty supplies, and instructions to those in need by giving them hope while helping them regain their confidence and self-esteem from hair loss due to chemotherapy or radiation, as they’re often faced with emotional and psychological challenges. By supporting this program, you can directly contribute to enhancing the lives of these courageous individuals as they face a life threatening journey.
